David Eldon, Senior Advisor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and former Chairman of HSBC, delivered a speech, entitled The Joy of Flex, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s EMBA Forum. Hong Kong is no stranger to change, he said. Some changes have happened quickly – changing from a British colony into a Special Administrative Region of China at the stroke of midnight on the 1st of July 1997. Other changes have been more gradual – the transformation from a trading port into a manufacturing hub and then into a service-led economy. Eldon discussed some of the current changes facing Hong Kong as it strives to remain one of the most agile economies in the world.
