First Stop-Smoking Medicine to Be Available in China to Support Beijing 2008 Olympics

In collaboration with some related departments, Shanghai Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. will provide support for China’s efforts to make a smoke-free Beijing 2008 Olympics, with the world’s first stop-smoking medicine Nicorette. Shanghai Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals is now applying for OTC status for the medicine in China. With 350 million smokers, China is the largest country in terms of tobacco production and consumption, as a result, the country shoulders heavy responsibilities to make a smoke-free Olympics.
