Zhenjiang Provincial Labour and Social Security Bureau recently issued a circular, in a move to better protect the legal rights of minors. According to the circular, excepting being arranged by schools to participate in activities including educational practice and vocational skills trainings, minors under the age of 16 should not be allowed to participate in operational work in the name of work-study programs, otherwise, enterprises involved will be deemed as use of child labor and will be severely punished.
