Xinjiang saw its coal reserves hit 2.19 trillion tons, accounting for approximately 41 percent of China’s total. Many coal giants are competing for the region’s coal resources. Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Company has obtained the coal exploration rights for Nanhuangcao Lake, Qitai County, Xinjiang. The coal resources of the mining area total 14.7 billion tons and its proven reserves are 10.4 billion tons.

Hebei province’s coal exports decline 15% in 2008

Heibei province’s exports of coal decline in 2008 due to such factors as the Chinese government’s macro-control policies, supply and demand changes in the coal market and the global financial crisis, which has led to a steep decrease in coal demand. According to Shijiazhuang Customs, the province exported 11.5 million tons of coal in 2008, down 15 per cent from the previous year. Industry analysts expect a gloomy outlook for this year’s coal exports.

Chinese city Xuanwei’s value added tax of the coal industry levied totals RMB226 million for first eleven months

The value added tax of the coal industry levied by the taxation administration of Xuanwei, Yunnan province totaled RMB226 million (approximately US$33.1 million) for the first eleven months of this year, a year over year growth of 55.1 percent. The strong growth is mainly attributable to stable growth in coal production resulting from improved safety management, as well as enhanced oversight of the coal industry.

Dongsheng’s coal resource tops 20 billion tons
