Guodian cooperates with Bozhou government on electricity development

Guodian Xinjiang Power Co., Ltd has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement on energy resource projects with the government of Bozhou. The agreement involves many energy segments including wind power, water power and thermal power, among others. The signing of the agreement indicates that Bozhou has entered an important stage of electricity development.

Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric intends to acquire Dynex

Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric Co., Ltd announced yesterday that the company will acquire Dynex, a world-renowned semiconductor manufacturer. The company, mainly engaged in the development, manufacturing and marketing of power converters for trains, will buy 80 percent or 100 percent of the outstanding common shares of Dynex for 0.55 cad per share. The company on March 28 signed a non-binding letter of intent with Dynex.

Hongkong International Terminals Plans to Cut Carbon Dioxide Emissions by 7,000 Tons

Hongkong International Terminals plans to invest HK$140 million in refitting its gantry cranes. The refitting is expected to be completed by 2010 and will cut energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 50 percent and approximately 7,000 tons, respectively. An insider said that 81 of the cranes will be changed into electrified ones while the rest will be changed into diesel-electric hybrids. Eventually, 70 percent of the cranes will not be powered by diesel engines. Since electricity is cheaper than diesel, the refitting is expected to bring about a sizable return on investment.

Beijing Founder Electronics Fighting Against Piracy

David Eldon discusses changes facing Hong Kong

China’s largest wind power project to be established in Xiaocaohu, Xinjiang

China Huadian Corporation and Tulufan recently signed an agreement. Under the terms, Huadian will invest RMB 15 billion to establish a wind power station with a capacity of 2 megawatts (MW) in Xiaocaohu Wind Area, Tulufan, one of the nine wind areas in Xinjiang. This will be the largest wind power project in China. Currenty the wind power station in Dabancheng, Xinjiang is the largest wind power station in China and also the largest wind power station in Asia.

PLA Navy successful in developing China-made battery

Harbin Power Equipment signs a RMB 350m contract

Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd, Harbin Boiler Company Limited, CITIC Construction, Harbin Turbine Company Limited and CITIC International Contracting Inc. recently signed a RMB 350 million contract whereby the five companies are to provide three major generators to a Brazilian power plant with a capacity of 350,000 kilowatts, the biggest cooperation project between China and Brazil.
