Hainan to become island of 5-star hotels

With the entrance of internationally renowned hotels including Shangri-La Hotel, Westin and Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the number of 5-star and soon-to-be 5-star hotels in Hainan will reach 36 within two years. By then, Hainan will be the island of 5-star hotels. At present, there are 14 5-star hotels in Hainan, such as Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Marriott. According to statistics, Beijing and Shanghai had 18 and 17 5-star hotels, respectively as of the end of 2006. According to the commitment of The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, Beijing will have 800 star-rated hotels and 37 5-star hotels by 2008.

Chikan water plant resumes water supply
