China-based Daqin Railway recently announced results for the year 2008. Revenue for 2008 was RMB22.6 billion (US$3.3 billion), a rise of 8.32% over the same period last year. For the year, the company reported a year-on-year increase of 8.38% in income from core operations to RMB22 billion (US$3.2 billion), accounting for 97 percent of its full-year 2008 revenue, and EPS of RMB0.51 (US$0.07). The growth was the result of the company’s continued growth in traffic volume during the year. Daqin Railway revised down its 2009 traffic volume guidance to 310 million tons and anticipated income from core operations for 2009 to RMB19 billion (US$2.8 billion).
